Cultural Anthropologist and Archaeologist

Founder of M.A.A.A.T. 13. Her research interests focus on death studies, international cooperation, the protection and promotion of cultural heritage, teratology, and mythopoiesis. Her research has explored necrotourism; identity mismatch and society as a form of mourning; tattoos as a means of processing loss; and *dark work*, referring to occupations involving exposure to death and bereavement whose emotional and social impact often remains institutionally unrecognised, including firefighters, healthcare assistants (OSS), and tattoo artists. Her work also investigates European folklore, with particular attention to masks, rituals, and funeral laments.
